Monday's auction of 207 acres in Edgar Co., Ill., saw 50 acres bring $10,000 an acre. The far was located about 8 miles northeast of Chrisman. The 50-acre tract featured 48 tillable acres and offered a soil PI of 143.4 with 147 considered maximum per Bulletin 811.
A second tract of 117 acres sold for $9,500 an acre. It was 100% tillable and carried a soil PI of 143.5.
A third very narrow tract of 40 acres with 33 acres classified HEL (highly erodible land), cut by a creek and a soil PI of 135.5 did not sell.
