Another central-Illinois grain farm sold for just over $10,000 an acre this week. The farm, located one mile south of Heyworth in McLean County, offered 97 tillable acres and carried a soil PI of 136.1. The maximum soil PI is 147, per Illinois Bulletin 811. The auction occurred Wednesday Dec. 2.
The farm's five-year yield average was 208.9 bu. of corn and 59.8 bu. of soybeans per acre. Dropping out the drought year of 2012 lifted that average to 226.6 bu. per acre for corn and 60.3 bu. for soybeans.
