$11,300 per acre in North Central Illinois

A March 12 auction of 342 acres two miles southwest of Washburn, Ill., in Woodford Co., saw prices range as high as $11,300 an acre for high-quality cropland.

Tract 1: 45 acres with with 39 acres tillable carrying a Productivity Index (PI) of 133.5 (147 equals maximum) sold for $8,500 an acre.

Tract 2: 22 acres, 100% tillable with a PI of 123.9 sold for $7,750 an acre.

Tract 3: 39 acres, 100% tillable with a PI of 141.5 brought $11,300 an acre.

Tract 4: An adjacent 80 acres, 100% tillable, with a PI of 141.4 also sold for $11,300 an acre.

Tract 5: An adjacent 79 acres, 100% tillable, with a PI of 137.4 brought $9,700 an acre.

Tract 6: 77 acres with only 22 tillable with the balance in timber and a pond brought $4,000 an acre.
