An auction this morning saw 142 acres of Peoria Co., Ill., cropland sell for $13,500 an acre. The farm was located 1.5 miles west of Brimfield on U.S. Highway 150 near the I-74 interchange. U.S. 150 cut diagonally through the lower third of the offering, dividing the property into two tracts. The farm was nearly all tillable otherwise.
The soils carried a PI of 142.3 with 147 the maximum, per Illinois Bulletin 811. The corn PI was 191.
